I had an amazing experience with Allen Family Drug today after they were able to fill a prescription for me in 5 minutes that CVS hasn't been able to fill for 2 months. Emily was so personable and professional- not to mention the pick up process was very efficient. As someone who has only ever used a CVS/Walgreens, I am now a "mom & pop" supporter and they have a forever customer in me!

Be cautious of compound drugs recommended at this facility. They may not be covered by insurance and might be ineffective. I was prescribed a compound medication here - a salicylic acid-based liquid. Anyone with basic chemistry knowledge should be aware that salicylic acid is typically mixed with solvents like alcohol to maintain its liquid form. Proper sealing is crucial to prevent rapid solvent evaporation. Unfortunately, my salicylic acid solution was dispensed in a syringe without properly sealing the opening. As a result, the compound crystallized quickly, clogging the syringe and rendering the medication unusable after just three days. This is unacceptable for a prescribed medication. I strongly recommend that the pharmacy review their compounding and dispensing practices to ensure patients receive effective, usable medications.

Transferred my prescription to Allen Family Drug after I found that at my current compounding pharmacy, I would have to wait for an indeterminate number of days for "processing" of my prescription followed by a text where I would then pay. After I paid, THEN I would wait 2-4 days for my prescription to be filled. With hormones replacement therapy, we simply can't wait that long. Called Allen Family Drug and they attentively listened to me. They have a similar process although no payment must be made prior to filling the prescription and their regular process time is 2-3 days. When I asked if there was any way to speed up the process, I was told I would be able to get my prescription the same day. They routinely fill this prescription and are prepared. They called and handled the prescription transfer for me and filled it within hours. THANK YOU!!! Appreciate the courteous phone exchange and speedy service. Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I love this place!! After many years of patronizing the more-convenient CVS, I visited Allen Family Drug several months ago. What a pleasure - small, friendly, not crowded, and wonderful service. Almost a throwback to the old neighborhood pharmacy. They carry many unusual and interesting pharmaceuticals, and the pharmacy is efficient and accurate. Huzzah!!
