Andy has been the Pharmacist in Charge at Allen Family Drug since April 2019. Andy holds degrees from Texas Christian University and the University of Houston College of Pharmacy. He has over thirty years of experience in community independent pharmacy. Further he has distinguished himself as an expert in pharmaceutical compounding by being named as a Fellow by the Alliance of Pharmacy Compounding. Andy’s focus is on offering superior customer service and being accessible to all the patients he serves. When not working Andy enjoys spending time with his wife Desiree, they like to travel, camp, and following the TCU Horned Frogs Football team.
Tina Huynh, RPh, ABAAHP
Pharmacist/Anti-Aging Health Practitioner
Our Pharmacy Manager, Tina Huynh, is a graduate of the University Of North Carolina School Of Pharmacy in 1990. Tina worked at the Pharmacy Benefit Management Patient Counseling line and served as the Patient Educator for the pharmaceutical company Eli Lily before working at Allen Family Drug. Being a pharmacist at Allen Family Drug, Tina has been to many seminars and educational courses, such as functional medicine and a lot more. She has more than a decade of experience in balancing women’s hormones with bio-identical hormone replacement and holds a diplomate certification from The American Board of Anti-Aging Health Practitioners.
When asked about her take on compounding, Tina states, “Custom medications avoid the problems created by the philosophy of ‘one size fits all,’ which is common in a large number of manufactured products. The expertise and experience of our compounding pharmacists make all the difference.”
It is her passion and commitment to developing a strong team of knowledgeable and caring staff, as well as to help her patients feel better every day. Tina is happily married to Dr. D.T. Huynh. They have two wonderful daughters, Valerie and Carolyn.
Joe Bertrand, RPh,
Marketer/Relief Pharmacist
Joe attended Louisiana State University (LSU) for pre-pharmacy, then attended Northeast State University to obtain his pharmacy degree. He spent a good portion of his career at a major pharmaceutical company, Eli Lilly, where he served in many capacities, including sales, marketing, and new product development. He later worked for United Healthcare as a prescription benefit manager and at Optum Rx as a Senior Director of Specialty Pharmacy. Joe also has complete certifications in Medication Therapy Management and Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery.
Joe really enjoys working for Allen Family Drug as a staff pharmacist as well as supporting its marketing and education projects. As an independent pharmacy, Allen Family Drug pharmacists and staff exemplify what it really means to be patient-focused! The daily objective of the pharmacy staff is to have direct customer contact intended to exceed needs and ultimately improve their lives through a variety of dedicated programs.
Joe and his wife, Carol, love to travel, dine out, and spend time with family, friends, and pets.
Melissa Methot, CPhT
Pharmacy Technician/Pharmacy Supervisor
Melissa began her pharmacy path in 2003. She has had experience working in chain, independent, long-term care, and compounding pharmacies. Her interest has been in the medical field and in the business of taking care of others. Her years of experience have landed her in multiple roles including Lead Technician, Front End Manager, and her current position of Pharmacy Supervisor. She finds her greatest satisfaction knowing that she is part of a pharmacy team that truly cares about their patients. When Melissa isn’t at work, she enjoys antiquing and spending time with her wonderful husband Derek.
